A Low Cost Spay Neuter Voucher Program For Low Income Pet Ow

CASI CRITTER FIXER

Cats can have up to three litters a year (starting at 6 months of age) and dogs up to two litters a year. Many of there puppies and kittens find themselves abandoned or in shelters as there are simply not enough homes for them all.

Although spaying and neutering can help solve this problem, for many the surgery is cost prohibitive.

That's where CASI can help.

How the program works:

CASI raises money and works with local veterinarians in Carson City, Lyon and Storey Counties. Low-Income pet owners living in these areas can call Critter Fixer to see if they qualify for the program. Those pet owners who do qualify are provided a voucher which requires a small co-pay and referred to one of the programs participating veterinarians.

If you participate in a listed benefit program, you are eligible for CASI Critter Fixer

  • NV Checkup
  • Medicaid
  • Social Security Disability
  • Snap/Quest Card
  • Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants, and children (WIC)
  • Approval of your child's free or reduced school lunch

If you don't participate in any of these programs but your income is below $1,825 per month, you may still qualify for a voucher and rabies vaccination (if needed). Cost of co-pay is $40 for cats/kittens, $80 for dogs/puppies.
